Hi all! I created a YouTube video to help you pick out trendy and comfortable winter outfits! Each of the outfit I ideas I show you guys have many closet staples in it that you most likely already would own in your closet. I first show an outfit that consists of a gray sweater, black pants, a black belt, and black combat boots. The second outfit I show to you guys is an outfit with a band t-shirt. There are so many different ways to style this to make it your own as well. Lastly, the third outfit I show in my video is an outfit with a bear coat, jeans or leggings, a sweatshirt, a beanie, and white sneakers. Each of these outfits are something that you can gain inspiration on for when you get dressed in the morning before going to class. My goal for you all is to make you all feel confident and fashionable in what you wear every day. This screencast tutorial is here to teach you all how to place your closet staples together in different ways in order to make these outfits. During the winter season it becomes hard to want to dress trendy when you know it is snowy and under 30 degrees outside. This video will teach college students how you can create comfortable yet trendy outfits that you would not mind wearing while sitting in classes all day. I not only want to share some of my favorite comfortable winter styles with you, I want you all to add your own flare to these outfits as well.
I know as a college student it is annoying to sit in hours of classes being uncomfortable in an outfit, so therefore creating a bunch of outfits that are comfortable yet trendy will be a great middle ground to make you all happy and confident in what you wear. I hope that after watching this you continue to follow my blog to learn about what to wear during these cold wintery months.
When reading Christine T. Wolf’s article titled, “DIY Videos On YouTube:” she spoke about how DIY videos on YouTube are “One domain where this can be clearly seen is in do-it-yourself (DIY) culture, an arena in which YouTube’s impact has been foundational (Gauntlett, 2011). DIY projects may span a broad range of topics and include things like home life (such as home repair, decoration, cooking, and gardening), crafting (such as knitting, sewing and scrapbooking), personal fashion and style (such as jewelry, makeup, and hair techniques), making and tinkering with computers, and so on,” (Wolf). This helps to explain how I chose to create my own DIY video on fashionable and comfortable outfits for college students during the wintery months. Additionally, many YouTube users can find videos in a variety of ways based on what they are interested or even searching for on the website. As explained in the article, there are analytics and algorithms that help people find the content that they watch on YouTube, (Wolf). There are “filter bubbles” that are prediction engines that constantly create and refine the data itself to help find the videos that you should watch or ones that are recommended for you, (Wolf).
Lastly, during the production of this video there were many images that I used in order to facilitate the production of the video. On the second slide where there are images of many staple closet items, I found these from various websites that I shop on. There are images of leather leggings, a black sweater, blue denim “mom” jeans, a white sweater, a silk hair scarf, and white sneakers. Each of these images were found on website I frequently shop on that have good items to buy at a reasonable price.
